After being selected as a finalist for FashioNXT's UpNXT Emerging Designer Competition, I created an 8-piece collection inspired by the Japanese Spring tradition of "Hanami", or the viewing and appreciation of cherry blossoms. To bring this theme to life, vintage kimono silks that showcase spring blooms in their prints were incorporated into each look giving the pleasure of Hanami to all who view them. Using these upcycled fabrics adds the value of sustainability to each piece. The line focuses on a sophisticated silhouette with clean lines, elegant asymmetry, and an overall sense of effortless beauty.
